Ubisoft unveils Rainbow Six Siege Year 4 roadmap, new operators and reworked maps revealed

Ubisoft has revealed the roadmap for Year 4 of Rainbow Six Siege.

Rainbow Six Siege’s Year 4 goes live on March 5, 2019, and Ubisoft’s roadmap for it shows that it will include new operators from Peru, Denmark, Kenya, Australia and India, as well as reworkings of the Kafe, Kanal and Theme Park maps.

Season 1 of Rainbow Six Siege’s Year 4 will see the addition of two Australian operators, Gridlock and Mozzie, along with Operation Burnt Horizon and a map entitled Outback. Ubisoft has also detailed gameplay tweaks which will be applied to Rainbow Six Siege for Year 4 Season 1.

Further into Year 4, Season 2 will see the introduction of two new Operators: one from Denmark and another from the United States Secret Service. Plus it will see a reworking of the Kafe map. Season 3 will add Operators from Peru and Mexico and a reworked Kanal map, and Season 4 will bring Kenyan Operators and a revamped Theme Park.

As far as gameplay tweaks for Year 4 of Rainbow Six Siege are concerned, one major area Ubisoft is targeting in the game is damage dealt to team-mates: after a certain level of friendly fire, players will receive a sanction and after that, any damage they deal to team-mates will be reversed onto them. In Year 4, Ubisoft will also introduce a bomb-only playlist for those between levels one and 50 – which, it hopes, will provide a new route from casual to ranked play.

Ubisoft has already made available several Year 4 editions of the game, which are detailed here. For further Rainbow Six Siege news, keep an eye on its website.
